A classically trained, Osteopathic manual practitioner makes use of an in-depth understanding of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics and the principles that were outlined by its founder Dr. A. T. Still in 1874. When it comes to Osteopathic care- you’re paying for the way the practitioner thinks about your body more-so than what they do to it. Osteopathy is a gentle, non-invasive form of manual therapy that includes the main tools at the hands of any body worker- listen, think, feel and push, pull, twist. The goal is to remove restrictions within the body which are causing dis-EASE. We include the health and function of nerves, joints, muscles, blood vessels and lymphatics in the treatment of total body health. Osteopathic care has been found to be of use to people with all types of health concerns, including musculoskeletal issues, spinal health, traumatic injury, digestive irregularity, sleep problems, reproductive issues, respiratory health, migraines (and the list goes on). Our Osteopathic Practitioners at Original Health and Wellness have the highest standard of training in Canada with over 4,400 hours of education at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy in Hamilton. Following graduation, each practitioner has also demonstrated the skills necessary to pass a national-level exam process through the Ontario Osteopathic Association, where we are all members in good standing. Our practitioners are able to provide receipts for extended health care benefits through the Ontario Osteopathic Association, which is recognized by all insurance companies in Canada.
Jill Bodak (she/her)
Co-Founder
Practitioner of Osteopathy | Anatomy on Purpose | Author
M.OMSc., HBK, M.Sc. Kin (Candidate)
”The more deeply we understand something, the more effectively we can care for it.”
Jill is a Canadian Academy of Osteopathy graduate and has been in private practice since 2013. Also a Kinesiology grad from Lakehead University (HBK), Jill has spent the last 15+ years studying human movement. Her previous work as an Anatomy Instructor, Certified Personal Trainer and Movement Teacher inform her practice in an ongoing way. She is currently focused on new ways of teaching people about the overlap of breath, body and sound through the lens of anatomy. She studies the role of voice and sound in structural health with her teacher Fides Krucker and offers extended sessions online and in-person to people interested in this work. She writes and speaks publicly about the intersection of Wellness + Mortality- and how the wellness industry can do better to address the realities of living in a human body.
Jill’s interests beyond osteopathic practice include Zen based meditation practice, long walks with her dog and the constructs of an ethical life. She is committed to creating safe and inclusive, body-positive spaces. She strives to contribute personal effort to anti-oppression work by being brave enough to acknowledge her own privilege and the ways in which she can resource that privilege in order to serve others. In her 10th year of private practice, Jill is most inspired by the depth of her in-person work and the way that work is evolving to include a larger discussion around what it means to be well. *Current rates are set to allow sliding scale opportunities to patients in financial need on an individual basis. Lauren Fraser
Practitioner of Osteopathy
M.OMSc.
Lauren has been working with people for over 10 years. Having first begun as a registered massage therapist in Toronto, Lauren decided to add to her practice by pursuing an education at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy in Hamilton Ontario. She graduated in 2016 and is a member of the Ontario Osteopathic Association. Currently, she practices osteopathic manual therapy exclusively, but her clinical years as an RMT helped build her extensive knowledge of the human body. Lauren’s approach is to use a mindful touch that will work with the person and their nervous system to effectively give integrity to the body's structure. She is often thinking about lines of force through the tissues and their effect on the nervous and circulatory systems, as well as the musculoskeletal. Her goal is to realign the body's structure which will help restore its ability to function and maintain self healing and self regulation. She does this by bringing the tissues into a position of balance and ease. In her few years of clinical practice Lauren has extensive experience and interest in helping people of all ages and with any ailment, either longstanding or recent.

Marc Cote
Co-Founder of Original Health and Wellness
Practitioner of Osteopathy M.OMSc
Board of Directors OSTCAN
Marc began his interest in bodies and motion as a certified yoga instructor in 2008 and was certified in Pilates in 2014. Witnessing his students improving their health by changing their biomechanics through yoga, was the most invigorating aspect to teaching the practice. Inspired from the notion that healthy structure increases healthy function, Marc sought out a way to achieve these results in a more hands-on individualized approach, to make optimal health accessible to everyone. This led him to study at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy.
He began a clinical practice in 2013 as a student and graduated in 2016. While he still strongly believes in the positive mental and physical impact of exercise and nutrition, he knows that osteopathic care is a major factor in establishing and maintaining holistic health. In his 9th year of clinical practice, having treated a variety of patients from all different ages and backgrounds, Marc strives to run an inclusive clinic where patients feel safe. While a large part of his practice is treating chronic physical discomfort, Marc has a particular interest in working with complex physiological dysfunction. Marc is currently on the Board of Directors for OSTCAN (Osteopathy Canada) which is a national council that represents provincial osteopathic associations that adhere to the highest standards in education and professionalism.
Hours: Marc is currently off on parental leave and the rest of our team is covering his case load!
